Gout: Arthritis Chronic Disease

Gout is a chronic joint disease characterized by acute episodes of joint inflammation, usually self-defined and no sequelae in the early years of disease progression. Gout, also called crystal-induced arthritis is an arthritic condition that occurs when uric acid crystals accumulate in joints.

Gout is 4 times more frequent in men than in women. It can occur from adolescence to senile, age although preferably affects women and men between 35 and 50 years from age 50.
