According to the conclusions concerning access of patients to anti-cancer treatments carried out in the European Parliament in Brussels, there are significant inequality for patients accessing treatment for cancer in the whole of the European Union.

Despite major advances and benefits of new and innovative treatment options, European patients cannot access these treatments and that will take a while until that these patients achieve benefit from these treatments, but depends on the country in which they live.

This report reveals the inequality exists to gain access to treatments neoplastic diseases in Europe. We believe that we cannot accept that they maintain these inequalities. Hopefully the persons authorized to take decisions to proceed immediately to exclude these differences for the benefit of all patients with cancer in Europe.

The following report featuring 19 countries that make up 74% of the population of Europe. Austria, Spain and Switzerland have been the first to adopt quickly of new treatments, while other countries such as the UK, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Norway and Poland are situated behind.

Those responsible for this report indicates that it is estimated that the total amount of cancer treatment is 115 euros per capita, only 5% of total health expenditure. The cost per capita of neoplastic disease treatments is between 8 and 17 euros per inhabitant in Europe.
