Swine Influenza aka Swine Flu or Virus H1N1

Swine Flu

The swine flu, also called swine influenza, is considered to be the most recent of all plagues that has hit the world. The swine flu is highly contagious, tranmitable through air, and caused by the H1N1 virus. Up to this time the swine flu has caused hundreds if not thousands of deaths all around the world, which especially in underdevelloped countries left a trail of damage, resulting from lack of supporting treatment with medications such as Tamiflu.

H1N1 virus

The Swine Flu is also know as the H1N1 virus which is the cause for the swine flu or swine influenza and which received its name due to its DNA builtup which is very similar in builtup. It is proven that this H1N1 virus is a mutation of the swine strain and human avian strain combined.

The Swine Flu; An Infectious Disease

The Swine Flu is an infectious disease affecting the respiratory system, and highly contagious as it spreads through body fluid emanated when sneezing and/or kissing. It has been discarded that the virus passes through consumption of pork which has proven to be a myth.

Symptoms of the Swine Flu

Common symptoms caused by swine influenza are frequently confused with regular flu (aka influenza) and may include high temperature (fever), sore throat, nausea, vomiting, nasal congestion, lack of appetite, body aches, headaches, diarrhea, chills, and fatigue.

•  Avoid greeting strangers with kisses; give a handshake instead
• Maintain good hygiene, constantly was hands.
• As precaution employees must make use of masks
• If symptoms of influenza are present, go immediately to the doctor to rule out the virus

Swine Flu Treatment

Antibiotic drugs do not have preventive effect on the swine flu and may instead cause for greater resistance. Effective treatment so far against the disease is the use of antiviral drugs as oseltamivir, commercially known as Tamiflu.
