This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as 60,000 years before it happens again. The encounter will culminate on August 27th when Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of -2.9 and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest 75-power magnification Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. Mars will be easy to spot. At the beginning of August it will rise in the east at 10p.m. and reach its azimuth at about 3 a.m. By the end of August when the two planets are closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its highest point in the sky at 12:30a.m. That's pretty convenient to see something that no human being has seen in recorded history. So, mark your calendar at the beginning of August to see Mars grow progressively brighter and brighter throughout the month. Share this with your children and grandchildren. Or is this all they require. I am a patient of theirs, so they already have all that information on me. What would I need to do to request compounded meds. The strong dosages of acetemenaphen is really scarring me, concerns with my liver. Would rather go to the compoinded meds. Thanks Ms3fande Author: Ace Posted: Wed Aug 17, 2005 11:54 am (GMT -5) Topic Replies: 553 What ended up hanppening is that early Monday morning, I had to call Unversal and give my "permission" for my DHL pkg to be delivered there. That was the only thing holding up my order. My understanding is that it is no big deal when a pkg sent UPS is routed to a UPS store. The issue comes up when another carrier is told to deliver to the UPS store. Basically, as long as you tell the local UPS store that you are expecting a package, they will sign for it. In fact, I went ahead and signed up for regular delivery service there, since the USPS won't bring things to my home (don't like my driveway), and I end up going in town anyway. So now I have a "residential address" in town that I can direct all packages to. Since I now have an account at the UPS store they will sign for everything that comes in my name. Maty, not sure why yours is coming UPS. On their website it states that they "switched carriers from UPS to DHL" on August 1. Don't know what's up with that? Even all my old orders have DHL on them now, when they were in fact delivered by UPS. Cindy, it was a guy at Unversal that left the message that they "couldn't ship DHL to a UPS store", but he was wrong. Hope that explains it! My family just got back from a quick trip to Carmel ("by the Sea"). My aunt and uncle have a home there. It was AWESOME, and not so FREAKING hot as it is inland where I live. Now I'm home and got some kind if flu or something. Bones, joints ache something fierce, and have a temp of 102 (I never run temps). Don't know what it is, but hope it goes soon, because I'm using more meds than usual and we all know that we don't want to risk running out of meds before your refill date. I hate that, when you start counting pills and days to see where you are. I don't have any stash or anything. Oh well, I'll get through this, and then back down for several days. Hope everyone is well! Ace Author: solara Posted: Tue Aug 16, 2005 9:10 pm (GMT -5) Topic Replies: 553 You're a good lady, Maty!! Thanks. Did you see the joke I left for you??? No!!! I hardly ever order next day though because I try to keep on it, so I still have some meds left over. I know sometimes I can't as I have to take more due to my pain, but when my pain decreases, I try to conserve:))) I'll post an update for you all when I get it. I didn't quite understand what you mean't when you said DHL won't ship to a UPS store. Hope all is well, Cindy My family is the meaning of my life Author: newtoatlanta Posted: Mon Aug 15, 2005 9:53 pm (GMT -5) Topic Replies: 4 Just PM me if you know what's up. Author: maty Posted: Mon Aug 15, 2005 9:38 pm (GMT -5) Topic Replies: 553 Ace, Let me know what happens because I was not told anything about the change of UPS! I ordered my last refill just today and I was not told about any change. In fact, I already got shipping info that stated UPS. hmmmm... weird!
