Teresita, I am a 42 year old martial artist.  My training had injured a shoulder problem of some years and lead to a pretty bad case. I followed my doctor's orders without improvement but have been very impressed with the decrease in pain and overall better mobility in the injured joint when I found an understanding doctor through your website.  I have been able to resume almost all my normal training in karate with minimal discomfort and have noticed that daily use of the  shoulder is now painless. Thank you Teresita for the follow-up, I've been using my requested medication only twice a week. For three weeks now and for the first time in many years I can sleep pain free again.  I'm 56 yrs old.  I did surf twice a week and lift weights four times a week.  About two years ago my shoulders started becoming sore. They got worse and worse so I had to begin cutting certain exercises out of my routine.  That didn't help and the pain got worse.   I cut more and more exercises and finally two months ago I even had to stop surfing.  Still no improvement. Finally I got on the Internet and after doing some research I found your website.  I found an understanding doctor right away and the the pain got better instantly.  Now after three weeks I have no pain most of the time and I'm slowly introducing exercises back into my routine that I had to cut.  If things keep getting better I'll be pain free and back on my surfboard. Hi,  I have now completed 1 week of treatment and I can't begin to tell you what a difference this has made to my life. I had the first decent nights sleep since almost a year right after receiving my medication. My range of motion, though not fully recovered, has improved markedly.  I continue to exercises although this causes a bit of discomfort so I limit the range of motion.  I would like to thank you for for your service and all your personal advice, I would have been miserable without. I have found your service to be invaluable. I just wanted to thank you so much for your information. >From reading your story, I felt I knew what you had gone through in your quest to find understanding doctors. I was diagnosed with Lupus three years ago and have since suffered joint pain that keeps me awake most nights and makes it difficult to make it through the day. My doctor began by prescribing the medication which was effective; however, as time went on he became concerned about prescribing narcotic pain medication for extended pain management. I was therefore told to take Celebrex and a Tylenol and this would, in his words, control the pain. I teach in a public high school and love my job; however, with my health issues, I was finding it difficult to make it through the day without becoming irritable and fatigued, simply because of the pain. It was so wonderful to speak to a doctor who was not immediately on the defensive, but was sincerely willing to help. Thanks for making this website available to those of us who simply want to function in this world. I appreciate your work and research.
